There is currently a fantastic exhibition of Diana Harrison’s work on at the Craft Study Centre in Farnham, Surrey.
I was very fortunate to be tutored by Diana whilst study for my BA(Hons) at Farnham and her work has been a great source of inspiration for me ever since. She includes stitching, discharging, burning and bleaching in her pieces, creating complex surfaces and patterns. I don’t want to spoil the exhibition by showing images of the work so I have just shown below some examples from her material references and sampling display.
The exhibition runs from the 9 August – 8 October 2016.
Craft Study Centre, UCA Farnham, Falkner Road, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7DS
Diana is giving a lecture on the 5 October, reception 5-6pm, lecture 6-7pm £5 advanced booking required and there is a Private View on the 17 September 1.30-3.30pm.
Alternatively why not combine it with a visit to the MA Show at UCA Farnham, which runs from the 30 August – 2 September 9.30am-5.15pm, 3 Sept 10am-4pm. My MA work is being shown in the Contemporary Craft space along with glass, ceramics, textiles, jewellery and product design.
